This project was inspired by a 16th century flemish painting called “Woman Enraged” by Pieter Huys which specifically depicted a woman as the human manifestation of the deadly sins, because women are “more susceptible” to sin.
I wanted to flip this narrative and painting men who embodied each of the traditional seven deadly sins, especially those who have been glamorized by the media.
